There are a lot of Jain temples in Sultan Bathery. Several of them are in ruins, though. The most visited and famous one is the 13th-century Jain Temple. It was built during the Vijayanagar rule. After many years of its construction, it was used as a trade centre. But later, during the reign of Tipu Sultan, he used it as his ammunition depot.
